Common Musical Tastes:
Sometimes, opposites really do attract, so it’s possible that you and your fiancé don’t share the same taste in music. Narrow down the selection by focusing on one genre you both do like. It could be anything from 70’s 80’s or 90’s. If it’s country then go for that. Youtube music can be a great place to start scrolling and seeing what you both like.

Can you dance?
Sounds straight forward but a lot of couples or at least one in the couple may have 2 left feet. It can and believe me it does happen. Don’t for one second let that put you off though. I’ve played at so many weddings, believe me I’ve seen it all. If you can’t dance then pick a song where you can just shuffle around the floor and no one will be any the wiser.
The song we both love is very long
My advice to all couples is to pick a song that isn’t long. 3 minutes is more than enough for a first dance. A lot of couples hate the limelight and don’t want to be on the dance floor for very long with everyone looking at them. If however, your song is a bit longer, tell your Wedding DJ. If he’s experienced he’ll be able to guide you. For example I’ve often shortened songs for couples. A simple bit of editing can shorten a 5 minute song to 3 minutes and no one will even notice. On the other hand I’ve also got a few tricks up my sleeve to get all your guests involved and will make your first dance one you’ll never forget.
